Staying at the Palacio Cueto is a truly unique experience. This fully renovated four-star hotel is distinguished by its beautiful Art Nouveau style, magnificent undulating balconies, and the delicate and elaborate ornamentation of its façade. This majestic building, which originally housed a warehouse and hat factory, has been transformed into a haven of elegance and comfort thanks to meticulous restoration. The architect Arturo Marqués completed construction in February 1908, and the building was occupied from April of that same year. In 1910, the building was mortgaged to Mr. José Cueto y Suárez, a Spanish merchant residing on Inquisidor Street. Although the exact date it began operating as a hotel is unknown, it is understood that it was after Mr. Cueto purchased the building, from whom it takes its name. Over time, the building deteriorated and became a tenement, its original use shifting to residential. The Hotel Palacio Cueto is distinguished by its eclectic style and rich ornamentation. In its early years, the upper floors were used for lodging, while the ground floor housed various commercial establishments, including a beautiful pharmacy whose cedar counters stood out for their exquisite carving. Approaching its centennial, the City Historian's Office began restoration work on the Palacio Cueto with the aim of recapturing all the glamour and elegance of the building, as well as its function as a hotel. The hotel's interior, with its eclectic decor and numerous Art Nouveau details, offers all the comforts of a modern establishment. A stay at the Hotel Palacio Cueto is an unforgettable experience. The location of this building, which was once a warehouse and hat factory, is unbeatable, as it is located at the foot of Plaza Vieja, the true soul of Havana life and an excellent starting point for exploring the city.
