The hotel occupies a building that was originally an elegant residential mansion built in the early 20th century, during Cuba's Republican period. Its name, "Marqués de la Torre," pays tribute to Felipe de Fondesviela y Ondeano, an important Spanish governor of Havana (1771-1777) who held that noble title and promoted significant urban developments in the city. Privileged Location: Located on Paseo del Prado, one of Havana's most emblematic avenues, the area was from its beginnings a high-end sector where Havana's bourgeoisie built their luxurious residences. Architectural Style: The building features elements of the eclectic architecture typical of early 20th-century Havana, blending neoclassical styles with decorative details of the era.
